BORIS lukov

Boris Lukov was born in Varna in 1987. He graduated from the National Music Academy in Sofia in 2010. The young tenor made his debut as Ismael in Verdi's Nabucco at Varna National Opera house, where in the following seasons he was the leading tenor. He has sung the main tenor roles in Traviata, Butterfly, Tosca, Cavalleria Rusticana, Norma, Macbet, Ernani a.o. in all Bulgarian opera houses. He also performed many of these roles in different cities abroad, like Antwerp, Gent, Krasnoyarsk, Corfu, Palma de Mallorca, Berlin.

For his performances  Lukov received many positive critics in different internationals magazines. For instance Der neuer Merker writes: "...a big surprise was the young tenor Boris Lukov. Er possesses a  healthy and strong spinto tenor voice, with a pleasant color...".  In Opera World Domenico Gatto writes: "Very nice performance from the tenor Boris Lukov in the role of Polione. A dazzling future is expected for him."  The well known Italian critic Andrea Merli writes in Impiccione Viaggiatore:  "In the role of Pollione we saw the young Bulgarian tenor Boris Lukov. He was very well prepared, with elegant phrase and right accents he gave to his character a real life."

In the moment Lukov is a freelance singer.

• Giuseppe Verdi:  La Traviata, Nabucco, Macbeth, Aida, Il Trovatore, Ernani
• Vincenzo Bellini: Norma
• Giaccomo Puccini: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot
• Pietro Mascagni: Cavalleria Rusticana

Boris Lukov is also very well known as a concert and oratorial singer.
